Norwegian gods

Njord, the god of wind and water, jumped out to us because of our site location being on the coast of Oslo. He is popular amongst of Norse and is worshiped to bring sailors safety and plentiful bounty when they return home. his name means strong, vigorous, and healthy, which are all positive characteristics that can be translated to our hotel.

Njorden Hotel

This god, that encompassed so much of what we were trying to achieve, is what inspired the name of our hotel. adding 'en' to a word in Norwegian means 'the', giving use Njorden Hotel or in English 'The Njord Hotel'.

Goals and Objectives

Being the god of wind, the seas, and prosperity, we decided to make those the pillars of our hotel. To build a strong brand that is known for how it upholds its reputation with its guest.

Comfortability

Inspired by the Nordic Viking era, Njorden Hotel is an experience that makes guests to the sea while staying on the Olso coast The comfort of the guest was our main concern, were they can adrift around the hotel and city, making that our concept statement. We wanted guests to feel like they are being immersed in the Norse experience within the walls of our hotel. Being by the sea is a unique experience to give guests a moody boat room with port holes looking at the sea. Amenities are also important, as shown by the wine bar. Our goal is to pay homage to the Nordic culture.

Materiality

Our mood board reflects the materials that we want to use within our design. Our mood board overall is a heavy ambiance and a sense of intimacy. We want to pair this with warm-toned woods, highly textured materials, and dark blues.

Njorden Hotel Branding

Logo

Inspired by peeking through a port hole at a neighboring ship, the logo for the Njorden Hotel was created in homage to ancient Norse culture. The ship symbolizes the great deity, Njord, the god of the seas, wind, and prosperity. This logo invites guests in for a memorable experience that takes them back to ancient times.

Branding Package

Here we have a branding package that is catered to Njorden. The blues and green match the sea and forest in Oslo, and all images pay homage to the great city with Njord, organic lines representing the wind and sea he rules over, and the night sky with the northern lights above.

Fonts were also important to our branding. we picked primary fonts with cursive to look like old lettering, and more  traditional fonts for primary and secondary text.

Restaurant Branding

The restaurant branding is similar to Njorden's and offers 3 meals with multiple courses and specialty drinks. The menu is catered to classic Norwegian meals to further the immersive experience for the guest in the Norse culture.

Ratings

The hotel also comes with multiple rooms ratings, amenities listings, seasonal activities, services and conservational considerations.
